The idea is that together, the dubbed body and soft hackle create air bubbles along with the natural, insect-like movement of the hackle fibers. These are simple flies but incredibly productive. This flymph in olive can imitate mayflies, caddis, or drowned terrestrials. They've been around for eons and work just as well today as they did 200 years ago.
