6 - Hot Spot Spawn - Steelhead Flies. Trout Eggs. Fly Fishing Egg Flies. Best Egg Fly Patterns.
$19.00
Another egg pattern that trout and steelhead just won't turn down. Though they look like amorphous blobs, these flies imitate a small cluster of eggs very well. They've been around for many decades and historically were the egg pattern of choice amongst Great Lakes and East Coast steelhead anglers, however, in the right time and place any salmonid will take this pattern. A few colors and sizes of these flies will not be wasted space in your fly box. I can tie these in sizes #6-#16 in a variety of colors which you may choose from at checkout.
This listing is for 6 flies. I will default to using red thread on this pattern, creating that red core along the hook shank. I'll also default to using the "Brite Red" color of McFly foam for the hotspot - it is more of a reddish orange. Let me know if you would like other color combinations, just send me a message about it.
Hooks: My sizes are #6-#16 on barbless, black nickel scud hooks OR #6-#10 on 3x strong BARBED scud hooks for seriously big fish.
