6 - Striped Sucker Spawn - Steelhead and Trout Spawn Patterns. Steelhead Egg Flies. Trout Fly Fishing Flies.
$18.00
Another egg pattern that trout and steelhead just won't turn down. Though they look like amorphous blobs, these flies imitate a small cluster of eggs very well. Sucker spawn patterns have been around for many decades and historically were the egg pattern of choice amongst many Great Lakes and East Coast steelhead anglers, however, are extremely effective for trout, too. A few colors and sizes of these flies will not be wasted space in your fly box. In this sucker spawn pattern, I use 2 or 3 different colors of egg yarn to create an irresistible cluster of eggs.
This listing is for 6 flies. I'm only listing a few of the possible color combinations in the options, but please message me 2 or 3 specific colors to mix if you would prefer. Let me know if you want red thread - I like to default to threads that are similar to the color of egg foam, but some people like having red thread down the hookshank, similar to a bloodspot on an egg pattern.
Hooks: Offering these on 2 kinds of hooks, depending on size. EITHER barbless, 1x strong, black nickel finished scud hooks OR BARBED 3x strong, bronze finished scud hooks if you might be getting into some seriously large fish (3x strong hooks are only available in #6-#10).
Colors of egg foam to choose from - light pink, yellow/McCheese, peach, steelhead orange, brite red (orangey red), baby blue, chartreuse, fl. chartreuse. fl. cerise, fl. peach, apricot and white
