A little buggier than most of my jigs. The underbody of this fly is created with black stonefly dubbing, wrapped with blue ultra wire ribbing. A sparse, CDC collar creates undulating movement underwater imitating the legs/air bubbles of an emerging insect. This one is a little more subtle than most Euro patterns, and will shine when fished either as a larger anchor fly, or a smaller dropper.
These flies are tied on barbless, black nickel finished, standard length jig hooks OR barbless, black nickel finished, 1x short, wide gape jig hooks. These hooks ride point up greatly reducing the risk of snagging and are far less stressful on fish during removal.
