4 - Rumble Jig - Euro Nymph. Trout Flies. Fly Fishing Flies. Colorado Fishing. Barbless. Tungsten. UV. Epoxy. Attractor. Bead Head Nymph.
$13.00
This is a slight variation of Mckenna's Rumble Bug. This fly has won competitions and has proven its worth as a stellar, attractor pattern. There is nothing subtle about this fly - it is for going deep and attracting the attention of curious or feeding fish. Dyed mallard flank, a fluorescent orange hotspot, and pearl tinsel ribbing all contribute to the flash factor here. This fly is especially effective in off-color water during Spring runoff or after rain storms, but don't hesitate to tie one on during excellent conditions, as well.
I tie this on a barbless, black-nickel finish jig hook for a fly that will increase hook-ups and ride point up to reduce snags. These hooks also reduce stress on the fish as they are significantly easier to remove. I can tie these in #10-#16 standard length jig OR 1x short, wide-gape barbless jigs from #10-#18 for a slightly shorter body.
