A not-too-flashy caddis jig pattern that performs as an anchor fly in larger sizes, and as a perfect dropper in smaller ones. Featuring hare's ear dubbing for a "buggy" appearance, the mallard tail, copper colored tungsten bead and chartreuse wire act as triggers for the otherwise natural colors.
I tie this on a barbless, black-nickel finished, jig hook for a fly that will increase hook-ups and ride point up to reduce snags. These hooks also reduce stress on the fish as they are significantly easier to remove. Sizes #10-16 will have lead free wire on the underbody, #18 and #20 will not.
